9. What cards do you accept?
We accept VISA, SOLO, SWITCH, MAESTRO, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS. PAYPAL.
10. My food wasn’t delivered and I paid by card, can I have a refund?
You definitely can, here is how you do it:
1. get your order number ready (or your order details such as your name and the time you placed the order at).
2. Give us a call and let us know. After we have confirmed with the bank that the order was not delivered, we will refund your money.
11. The food was really bad quality, I want a refund! GRRR...!!
It’s always better to give us a call instead. Very often we will be happy to offer you a discount or some kind of compensation if we are know you were not satisfied with your food. There is unfortunately nothing we can do regarding compensations for the quality of food.
11. I am placing an order but I get a message saying “your card has been refused by the authorities”
This can happen for various reasons, here are a few examples:
1. You have typed your card details wrong, try to delete them and type them back in correctly.
2. You have tried to place the same order with us twice or more, in order to avoid abuse of credit cards by unauthorized parties, double orders are canceled automatically. In this case you try to pay by cash instead.
3. Your card has expired
4. There may be other reasons for which the card has been refused, most likely it is for your own security and safety.
11. I placed two orders, only one went through but I was charged twice. What’s the deal? What do I do now?
Ouch! This can happen sometimes for various reasons such as, for example, closing your browser while the payment is being authorized. Please give us a call on 0800 1455835 from 10:00 to 17.00 (Monday to Friday), we’ll check our payment system and refund you the money that was paid by mistake.
12. I was due a refund but I never received it, what’s up with that?
First of all, have you checked that your money EVER LEFT your account? It is most likely that the money has never left the account at all and so it may seem as if you are not receiving the refund. What happens is, whenever you make an online purchase, the money is RESERVED and not TAKEN from your account. If a request for a refund is sent on the same day, it is possible that the RESERVATION gets cancelled and therefore the money will simply not leave your account at all. In that case, it will not show a “refund item” on your statement. If, however, your money HAS been taken out of your account and you have not received a refund, contact us immediately so we can look further into the matter.
13. Where do you deliver to?
We deliver to pretty much the entire east London Area. With prior notice, we can accommodate orders outside of our normal delivery range. We have made several deliveries to the city, south and north London (These longer distances have special circumstances though). There are certain areas of East London that we do not service.
14. How much does this service cost?
The delivery charge depends on the order and where you are located. Most delivery charges are either £2.00 or £3.00 and would increase for longer distances. It is expected that you will tip the driver, 10% is customary.
15. £3.00 +Tip? That sounds expensive.
It might at first, but when you consider how much it costs to go to the restaurant the costs are almost the same. If you were to go and eat at the restaurant, you would pay for fuel to get there. Then you would tip the waiter/waitress. And then you would pay for fuel to go home. The service charge is probably about the same as the cost of your fuel. When you add in the amount of time you would spend driving there, the service charge is a bargain!
16. If I tip a waiter/waitress 10%, why would I tip a driver the same amount? The waiter serves me the entire time, but your driver only brings me my food.
A waiter/waitress serves you throughout your meal, and that meal would take maybe an hour, 90 minutes at the most. But that waiter/waitress serves you and 4 other tables at the same time. So you are getting between 12-18 minutes of that waiter's time. Our drivers spend 40 minutes of their time on just YOUR order. So it's fair to say that the driver deserves as much as a waiter/waitress.
